The Concrete Perma-Column

Integrity is the exclusive distributor of the Perma-Column in Western Canada. We offer the Perma-Column for post frame construction. Perma-Columns are precast concrete columns that allow for a concrete foundation on your post frame building. These 5’ & 7' precast concrete columns keep wood out of the ground, ensuring your building’s foundation will last.

The Perma-Column is the first product to combine the economy of post frame construction with the durability of a concrete foundation.

HOW ARE PERMA-COLUMNS MADE?

Perma-Columns use the latest in self-compacting concrete precasting technology to provide three times the strength of standard concrete. Microfibers add shock resistance and durability. Microsilicia enhances flexural/compressive strength and erosion resistance. A corrosion inhibitor protects the rebar reinforcement from rusting, and a final admixture is added to give freeze/thaw protection. The technology incorporated in our special mix guarantees a lifetime of durability.

The wood column is attached to a "U" shaped steel bracket made of 1/4" steel with 1/2" thru-bolts and 1/4" lags. This bracket is robotically welded to steel reinforcement that runs the entire length of the column. All the steel we use is a premium high strength alloy purchased domestically.

A sleeve is precast in to the base of the column to allow easy attachment of our innovative uplift or extender systems. See optional accessories section for more information.

HOW STRONG ARE PERMA-COLUMNS?

Perma-Columns have been extensively tested by both Wisconsin and Purdue University. In comparative strength tests, Perma-Columns have proven to outperform the industry standard for wood columns. As a general rule of thumb, Perma-Columns are as strong as the wood they are replacing.

New Technology for Post Frame Construction Extends the Lifespan of Buildings

In response to market demand for the Integrity Post Structure’s high-performance Perma-Column technology, we are excited to announce new cutting edge technology that will further advance the Canadian post frame industry. The new Integrity Post Disc supports the Perma-Column concrete post, by allowing for post frame construction in soils with low-bearing capacity or high water tables.

HOW THE DISC WORKS

The disc, which sits under the Perma-Column concrete post, helps limit settlements thanks to its extended surface areas by evenly distributing the column loading to the surrounding sub-grade.

Made of injection-molded plastic, the innovative honeycomb design ensures the disc stays in position under the post.

STANDARD POSTS

Our three ply 2" X 8" and four ply 2" x 8" laminated standard post is one of the strongest laminated posts in the industry. Not only is our three ply post 30% stronger than an average four ply 2" x 6", we only use Permanent Wood Foundation (PWF) material, which is suitable for underground use.

Our standard post is clamped together with 40 tonnes of force and pressure, glued with high strength adhesive, truss gusset plated and nailed together with 4" nails.

The result is a post that does not delaminate like regular nailed-together posts. In fact, it adds strength to your building and the building’s foundation. Choose the Integrity standard laminated post for the straightest, highest quality laminated post in the industry.

ENGINEERED TRUSSES

Roof trusses are one of the most critical elements of your post frame building. We only use top grade lumber, computer designed, our trusses are built to ensure the highest structural integrity.

We also place two GRK fasteners into each truss to pole connection. Some competitors just nail them, but we use two high quality fasteners
